Lay poolside all day with a cocktail and soak up the Miami sunshine, what could be better? Indulging in delicious restaurants all throughout the city will go perfectly with your tan, trust me. I’m sharing some of the best restaurants in Miami I think you will love so keep reading if you’re a foodie.
First stop in Miami – Locally sourced, organic, and vegan resto Planta. My friend Christen had suggested we try it and some of the unique plant-based dishes they are known for. Everything is created using the ingredients found in their rooftop garden. We had a wonderful waiter who was happy to give us his recommendations and everything sounded so amazing. I had to keep in mind no meat or dairy are used to make the dishes.
We order the spicy tuna sushi, cauliflower bites, mushroom nigiri, lettuce wraps, and activated charcoal icecream for dessert (highly recommend). Everything tastes so good and it was fascinating hearing what ingredients were used for each dish. I’m keen to visit this best restaurant in Miami and see what else is on the menu for my next trip.
Take an uber to the Design District and explore the streets of high-end shops while watching tourists snap photos around the iconic sculptures. Nestled between them you will find a cozy bar and restaurant under the Genuine Hospitality Group. Their sommelier recommended an organic Rosé that was delicious and paired great with our dinner selections. If you like to nosh before your entree I recommend the table bread and butter. They use a black salt that is unreal!
After strolling the beach we were ready for a bite and perhaps another glass of rosé, let’s be honest. We stumbled upon, The Local House. Christen remembered she enjoyed the ambiance and cuisine, and boy was she right. We started with a plate of west coast oysters paired with a glass of chilled Rosé. Then followed with brunch; I had the avocado toast with cherry relish and her, the eggs and cream. With sunshine and the cool ocean air Mila could not help but feel relaxed too which is why it makes the list of best restaurants in Miami for all visitors.
What’s a trip to Miami without doing some shopping. On the bottom floor of Saks Fifth Avenue in Brickell City Center, you will find an 18,000 square foot Italian kitchen. Each counter specializes in a different course. From pasta to charcuterie boards, salads, meats, and of course desserts there is something for everyone in this unique dining space. It was a fan favorite to order Cacio e Pepe pasta. Happy hour is also a great time to try different dishes at each counter.
Visiting Miami during Art Basel means the whole city is filled with art installations and exhibitions. We were keen to check out PAMM to see which artists are showcasing their work. Lucky for us every second Saturday of the month, the museum entree is free. We decided to grab lunch at Verde Miami and then walk the museum.
Next on the list for best restaurants in Miami is southeast Asian inspired spot, Komodo located in Brickell’s city center. I did not dine here this trip but I have in the past and the food and drink, you don’t want to miss. Order cocktails at the bar while you wait for your cozy table. Or walk the three-story indoor/outdoor eatery. It has everything you could ask for, food, ambiance, and even nightlife. You can eat dinner (perhaps start with the hamachi sashimi) and then enjoy a digestif or cocktail in the upper lounge to finish.
Does it sound like Italian? It is and oh so delizioso! Enjoy classic Italian fare inside Soho Beach House on South Beach. A dark and moody setting at night makes it perfect for date night. We loved the truffle pizza, Garganelli bolognese, and delicious wine.
I’m hungry just thinking about these places, aren’t you? You should be! These are just a few of the best restaurants in Miami so when you make a trip make sure they are on your list.
Heading to Portland? You will want to visit these delicious spots while in such a foodie city.
